SoloShift exists because the founder spent years as an independent technology contractor — and realised there was no good tool to help professionals make the transition with confidence.
After 9+ years contracting across the UK, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands — across data engineering, analytics, and platform roles — the founder of SoloShift encountered the same problem repeatedly: talented professionals who were ready to go independent, but didn't know it.
The knowledge gap isn't about skill. It's about the practical things nobody tells you: how to format a contractor CV, what IR35 actually means, how much runway you really need, why your LinkedIn profile is costing you inbound opportunities, and what day rate you should be charging.
